The paper mill had just come off a 10 day outage and did not know the valve had failed catastrophically until the mill was running once again. Plant management called in COLT for solutions and a 4” engineered double line freeze was agreed upon between Colt in-house engineering staff and the plant engineering staff. Colt had the equipment on-site and began the freeze within 8 hours of the initial call and had the entire job completed within 24 hours which saved the plant from an unscheduled shut down.
